Additional key wordsOAC5
Cause and prerequisitesAlso if you use the bar code mapping through object services, the bar code Customizing and the bar code are checked.
The following sequence generally applies to the evaluation of the Customizing of bar code entry:
1) Object type, document type and users specified
2) Object type and user specified
3) Object type and document type specified (user-independent)
4) Object type specified (user-independent)
If
one of the evaluation rules corresponds to the parameters for object
type, document type and user, transferred by the application, then all
of the following rules are ignored, and the evaluation is terminated.
The bar code dialog box is displayed if one of the evaluation rules
applies and the corresponding entry is set to active.
In the case of bar code mapping via the object services, the system uses the object type of the application and the current user to check whether an active entry in accordance with rule 2) or 4) exists in the Customizing of the bar code entry (TA OAC5). If this is not the case, error message OA280 is displayed (Bar code entry not active. -> Administration).
If the bar code dialog box is displayed, you must select a document type. With the object type, the document type and the user, the Customizing of the bar code entry is checked again. To avoid conflicts with the Customizing for bar code entry when posting a document, you can maintain the subsequent bar code mapping via object services of separate document types (TA OAC2).
In addition, it might be required to restrict the activation of the bar code dialog box for those users who use the subsequent bar code mapping via object services. This is because a Customizing of the bar code entry in accordance with rule 2) or 4) activates the bar code dialog box for the entire application. If bar code entry should not be active for certain document types, you must additionally maintain inactive entries according to rule 1) or 3) in TA OAC5.
