Issue:Are my Oracle GoldenGate versions compatible?
Solution Overview:
Yes, Oracle GoldenGate has been designed to be backward and forward compatible.
Solution Details:
In general, you can replicate to and from any supported version of Oracle GoldenGate. However, be sure to read the Release Notes and the Installation Instructions appropriate for your release before upgrading for any special instructions.
The Release Notes and Installation Instructions can be downloaded from the Oracle E-Delivery Web site; edelivery.oracle.com
On
occasion, the format of the trails changes and keywords are necessary
for compatibility between versions. These are always documented in the
release notes.
However, within a code line
(v9.5, v10.0, v10.4) are always compatible so any v10.4..0.x version is
fully compatible with any other v10.4..0.x.
