Enhancement package is the new way of upgrade for SAP business suite.

The latest version of EHP is 4 for ERP 6.0, 1 for NetWeaver 7.0.

It’s not support package. Support package contains corrections, while enhancement package provides new functions.

It’s in a cumulative way from EHP1 to EHP4, which means EHP4 contains all that in before, although from EHP4 on, you can make delta installation based on EHP3.

There is only one version of EHP allowed for one system at one time.

After installation, you will have to activate the functions you want contained in EHP to make it work. And then you can configure it if required.

The impact of the new function is clearly documented. And what’s more, SAP has provided test case template for every function which is part of the installation and can be used for testing.

The roles: Business consultant should know which function is suitable for the business solution firstly, and basis downloads and installs it with specialized tools and under specific requirements, and finally business consultant actives, configures, tests the function and after necessary user training, goes live.
